5 Day Training Course

Just as the name implies the JEL Adjuster Boot Camp is an intense 5-Day class that will result in your being able to do an insurance claim from start to finish and get paid. We incorporate the #1 software used by the industry – Xactimate – from Day 1. Even if you have no computer background we will have you working like a pro! Here is just a taste of what you can expect:

Day 1 – We discuss the business of adjusting and the variety of opportunities for an insurance claims adjuster and how you can succeed in this business. We move on to the math skill you need (yes there are a few you need and we will help you brush up on them!), some basic policy knowledge and introduce you to Xactimate.

Day 2 – Adjuster boot camp starts by spending the morning at Lowes discussing the elements of construction and what to do when those items are damaged. Back at class we go step by step through an insurance claim from the appointment through the inspection then onto learning how to Sketch in Xactimate and our first Xactimate project.

Day 3 – You will do a mock claim at an actual house and deal with a “homeowner” and severe CAT damages scoping from the roof down through the entire house. The rest of the day is spent putting the claim into Xactimate. There is a big difference in putting someone else’s paper drawing into Xactimate and taking your own measurements and doing your own Xactimate estimate! This is what separates JEL from every other school!

Day 4 – This is the longest day at adjuster boot camp - 9 to 9. In the morning we discuss the job markets, how to avoid the hazards that could put you out of business and help you create the best resume to get you the work. After lunch our time is devoted to Xactimate and showing you how to complete out a claim and processing it to the carrier. We bring in pizza and give you another claim to pull all the skills you’ve learned together.

Day 5 – We review the claims and skills you’ve learned and give you a final project you do on your own for a grade along with a final exam. We teach at the State College of Florida and you will receive a College Certificate upon getting a passing grade. This is important to you and to future employers. By legitimately passing the JEL Course and not just getting an “attendance certificate” you will have confidence that you know what you are doing and if given a claim can do the job right the first time and get paid.
