JEL Training, LLC was founded in 1986 and is a family-owned business based in Bradenton, Florida.
Founder John Gold has over 45 years experience in the insurance industry and his daughter, Linda has over 25. In fact, the majority of the Gold family is involved with the business, serving in one way or another to ensure success. Each family member is passionate about and dedicated to teaching others about the field of adjusting.
Over their 24 years in business, JEL has researched, written and trained upwards of 100,000 students in the fields of licensing, continuing education, sales, products, policies, adjusting and Xactimate.
JEL students who have experienced other classes often comment that the JEL Adjuster Boot Camp allows for more "real world" application and teaches skills that can be applied immediately. When a student finishes the JEL Boot Camp, regardless of their skills at the beginning, they can successfully complete a claim from start to finish making them the most immediately marketable students to come out of any school.
JEL is aware that people learn in different ways and at different speeds. Because of this, students are not rushed when learning and instructors ensure that students comprehend what is being taught. Students don't just sit in the class room learning theory from PowerPoints, they go to Lowes to touch and feel contruction elements and discuss how to handle the damage, they go to an actual house to measure and document damages from the roof on down through each room and they work on multiple "claims" so they really know how to do the job.
JEL does not compartmentalize information so that construction is taught one day, scoping another and Xactimate yet another. The Adjuster Boot Camp starts on day one with a holistic approach that weaves all the elements together cohesively so that knowledge builds from day to day. JEL understands that most people coming into this industry are over 40 and have been out of the classroom for a long time. We have designed our training to promote maximum learning.
Adjuster Boot Camp classes are kept small, usually no more than 15, although on occasion up to 20 students will be admitted. Similar classes given by other schools typically have only one instructor with 25 to 40 people - a much larger and less personal atmosphere.
JEL always has at least 2 instructors per class, but with classes of over 12 students, 3 instructors will be present. This student to instructor ratio of 6-1 ensures plenty of 1-on-1 interaction, especially when learning the Xactimate software.
